The municipality of Træna consists of 450 islands, islets and rocks in the Norwegian Sea about forty kilometers from the mainland Norway. The landscape is dramatic with high mountains rising above the sea. The region has been inhabited since the Stone Age and the people here have always had fishing as their main source of livelihood. The municipality has only 478 inhabitants but wants to attract more people by innovating new ways to utilize the amazing resources the nature has to offer. Recently Træna has become known for its music festival that attracts up to 2,000 visitors every summer.
Traena Hostel is an answer to the seasonal need for tourist housing while respecting the inhabitants and nature of the island. Flexible plan offers five rooms for up to 18 guests and a restaurant cafeteria for up to 28 diners and a seaside grandstand for gatherings and observing the beautiful surrounding nature.
