Study of coffee cups | various types of ceramics and glazings
New to ceramics I designed and crafted a set of coffee cups to learn the basics of ceramic works and gain better understand of the materials and methods involved. I found out that the art form of ceramic works is even more versatile and challenging that I ever could have imagined. The study of coffee cups includes a set of different kind of clays as a raw material combined with a numerous amount of glazings alternatives. The study evolved from first copying the traditional coffee cups and then altering the elements in it to achieve playful yet functional forms.
